I'm Riley Flanagan, a working Assistant Director in the DGA. I started By ADs, For ADs because I wanted simple tools that solved the annoying little problems ADs and PAs deal with every day on set.

My Story

I stepped onto my first film set in Cleveland, OH when I was 20 and immediately fell in love with the industry. I later moved to Atlanta, GA as its film industry was growing and worked my way up through the AD department. Over the years, I've worked on major productions including The Hunger Games and Avengers.

During the writer & actor's strike, I started building apps in my spare time. I wanted simple tools that could help me work faster, stay organized and handle some of the repetitive tasks that come with being an AD. As those tools started coming to life, I realized other ADs, PAs and crew members might find them useful too. So I created By ADs, For ADs and made them accessible for everyone.

The goal has always been to make useful production tools accessible to the industry and community I cherish so much. That's why most of the apps are free, the newsletter is free and the production templates are free as well.
